Innovation in combining methods of creativity (The Four C Model of Creativity (Beghetto, Kaufman), TIPS (G. Altshuller) etc) and effective methods of team motivation and development

Innovation in combining creativity methods

Currently, there are a large number of creative methods of different authorship, for the most part, all models complement each other, allowing you to concentrate on certain aspects. In order to see the picture of problem solving, it is suggested to combine the methods so that they positively influence team motivation and development.

If we consider the methods of creativity, most often each of them works in some of the vectors of the reality of life:

  • with the vertical vector, when there is a movement from greater to less or vice versa, from the general to the concrete, from the global to the concrete senses, when the upper level must rest on the lower, more accommodates less for further movement. Thus, James K. Kaufman and Ronald Baghetto's creativity method "4 C" ("The Four C") shows the levels of creativity development: mini-c ("transformative learning", which includes "personally meaningful interpretation of experiences, actions and ideas"), little-c (everyday problem solving and creative expression), Pro-C (demonstrated by people who are professionally or professionally creative, but not necessarily outstanding), and Big-C (creativity is considered fundamentally, historically significant in the field). This model is designed to help accommodate models and theories of creativity that qualify as an important transformation as a higher appreciation of creativity.

  • a horizontal vector, such as the TRIZ method of H. Altshuler, when universal principles of creativity form the basis of innovation. TRIZ identifies and codifies these principles and uses them to make the creative process more predictable. In other words, whatever problem you're facing, someone, somewhere has already solved it (or a very similar one). Creative problem solving involves finding that solution and adapting it to your problem. The use of TRIZ is to study these recurring patterns of problem and solution, understand the contradictions present in the situation, and develop new methods of using scientific effects. That is, we investigate the parallel processes that are around in this series of solutions.
  • with the procedural vector, when the main vector of finding a solution occurs in the process itself, such as the method of placing a story from pieces on the board, creating improvisational stories, and role-playing improvisation. In the process of creating history, the non-standard, paradoxical, something that is difficult to notice in the usual flow, mode of life, is manifested, emerges.

It is natural that the most effective methods should include all the three vectors of finding a solution, but what we can observe in the existing methods, the main emphasis is kept on one or two at a time. In this case the whole zone of excluded vectors of reality is not reflected.

The form of creativity is what is found at the intersection of all three vectors, that is, a three-dimensional space is created when all three vectors are taken into account and the solution at their intersection is the most complete and takes into account all directions. Thus, taking the role-playing method, we can notice that the process itself can be further enriched by highlighting the background of the story, adding more details, who else is present in this process that expands the horizontal view. In the same way, what is happening inside this hero, in fact, any figure, character, and what controls him when he does this, why, what is there in this that is hidden from the first glance, that adds a vertical look to what's going on. By gradually adding and layering planes, the space for creating a solution is enriched and such a solution emerges, which will consider various aspects the most. When we add some new points, it is essential to have pauses and notice the changes. A pause could also be made to regain some recourse (physical, mental, emotional) to have some short rest which contributes to work of the unconscious part of psychics that is also crucial to take part in the act of creation. It is important to notice the space around the problem, what is happening in the surrounding that we, while working with finding solutions, do not pay attention to. By this means, the vectors can be applied not only within combing methods, but also to study the problem and its connection to the surrounding environment itself.

Creativity is the process of developing something qualitatively new, when a creative product is a merge of fundamentally new qualities that did not exist before, but which are a way out of a dysfunctional cycle.

Creativity in team motivation and development

Speaking about motivation and development in the team, it is worth highlighting the main meanings of using a creative approach.

The first meaning is the expression of the restrained, unexpressed in the team, so that these feelings, emotions do not explode in a destructive version, when it becomes impossible to hold back anymore, and these feelings are manifested already in an exaggerated form, at an inopportune time, in an inappropriate context. On the one hand, it is about discomfort, tension and lack of contact among team members, when there are pent-up resentments, gaps, shame, anger, envy and so on, but this energy can, on the contrary, be redirected and manifested through such a form that, on the one hand, will release it, and on the other hand, it will be a resource for new interaction, co-creation even, the emergence of new ideas, when it happens that motivation and interest among employees falls, the pace of development slows down or stops altogether and a new impetus is needed. Our usual categories do not quite describe our experiences inside, so we need to put this form, in the form of language, words, concepts, in such a way that they can create such a new form in which the inner subconscious energy can be realized.

Thus, the first meaning passes into such a second meaning of using a creative approach, as the creation of concepts for the development of the same group. We must create a concept of the problem here and now, keeping the tone both on the active level, that is, to keep looking, trying, experimenting, and on the feelings, that is, keeping the concentration on this energy that supports this tension, interest, those feelings that arise about the problem in the team

An important aspect in this is the interaction of adult personalities among themselves. Here, on the one hand, there is respect for the creativity of others, an understanding of the value of the creativity of others, and at the same time it is an understanding of how it works in ourselves.

An important factor of motivation is feeling, understanding the meaning of what I as a team member do here, why it is important for me, and for us as a team, what is important to us, why we do this thing together. If this feeling from the inside is not there, then it will be difficult to find creative solutions together on an ongoing basis, because there will be internal misunderstandings, difficulties, insufficient amount of inclusion in the process, interest will disappear, etc. Any meaning is created by tension, and if there is no tension, then creativity will not happen.

Effective methods of team motivation

The task of the team is to get out of the cycle of the problem by finding non-trivial solutions that will be effective, that is, qualitative changes will occur as a result of this solution.

Important elements:

  • The limitations are objective or subjective, the problem is clear and understandable, and the complexity that creates tension.

  • Determining where it is important to move towards, what it is important to arrive at, what result to achieve.

  • Determination of how we will solve this problem.

Often, the question of the direction of the solution and with whom exactly it is important to achieve it can be combined, because the values and priorities of each team member are also decisive, which will clearly influence the determination of the desired result, the same solution.

Solving the task itself has 3 major stages, creative acts:

  • the set of actual material that is: this can be done by using three vectors to cover the entire plane as much as possible.

  • directly a creative act, processing this material, where you can combine several methods as a form for experimentation, combination.

Objectification of the creative act, when we formalize the solutions that appear and experiment with the very embodiment in practice in systematic coordinated actions. Moreover, when our created solution meets reality in the future, it can be somewhat modified, transformed, taking into account those variables that we did not take into account before or that appeared, which also gives flexibility and the ability to respond to any unforeseen changes more easily and more efficiently. In today's world, this is one of the priority areas of development.

The ideal key, a source for creative solutions, is the creation of a paradox, when you can combine things that at first glance are incompatible. Here, experimenting with a combination of methods, using the above reference points, will allow the field to reveal unexpected solutions that may surprise. After all, we often adapt in the world when there are difficulties, based on our experience and those of our predecessors, we copy those forms that are already known, but it is experimentation and combination to create something fundamentally new that allows us to find the most effective solutions that will be useful not only for the team, but also business, but will also maximally contribute to the spread of those values in society that social business carries, and also allows it to continue to develop in times of uncertainty.
